April 2nd, 2009 - Operation Dunkirk 2.0 Over

Our main goal was always to save the files and save the community, and as you know we had the best possible news; As of this afternoon it is 100% confirmed that FileFront will be staying online for as long as it possibly can. I would like to thank every last one of you who helped save the sites, without you none of these backups would have been possible.

As for the backups you made; these are no longer required, my suggestion to all of you is to delete them and free up space on your systems. I'm sorry to all of you who have monthly bandwidth caps and used a large amount of it to help save our beloved network. If anybody asks you for a copy of these backups I request that you refuse, the number one reason people want these backups is to start their own fan sites. There are two reasons why I don't like the idea of hundreds of 'splinter' sites spawning:

1, These splinter sites will fracture the already damaged community and could spell the end of some of the older games that the network sites are the centre of the communities for.

2, The developers of all the files gave us permission to host the files, while most developers wont care if their file ends up else where some do. I ask that you do not rehost all the files to respect the wishes of those few who only want their files available at certain sites on the web.

To all of you, my greatest thanks.
